Silvia Panseri
Silvia received her PhD in Biology at the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) in 2009. In 2010, she was awarded the Marco Polo Fellowship by the University of Bologna, Italy (Programme for Young Italian Researchers for research periods abroad) and she was a visiting fellow at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Cellular Engineering Laboratory headed by Prof. C.T. Hung – Columbia University (NYC, USA). At the moment she works as a researcher at the ISTEC-CNR since 2013.
Main current research interests: cell/biomaterial interactions, controlled drug delivery system, bioactivity of innovative platforms for biomolecules release, development of novel approaches in tissue engineering and nanomedicine based on innovative platforms, biomaterials and 3D cell culture. Biomimesis is the fundamental aspect of her research: she works on new scaffold/nanomaterial design to direct cell fate and on development of in vitro predictive models for medical applications. She has also expertise in biomaterial design, synthesis and characterization, 3D cell culture, dynamic cell culture in perfusion bioreactor, animal surgery and experimentation and biomechanics.
She is co-inventor of 2 patents. Author of 86 papers published in international peer-reviewed journals, 12 book chapters. H-index =25, total citations>2300 [Scopus, March 2021].
